Why Choose Us?
Choosing where to learn, fly and belong matters. At the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales, you’ll find a historic not-for-profit aero club that combines professional flight instruction, aircraft hire, member flying and a welcoming aviation community at Camden Airport.
Whether you’re booking your first Trial Introductory Flight, working towards a licence, returning to aviation, hiring aircraft as a member, or simply looking for a club where you can stay connected to flying, RACNSW offers a practical and supportive pathway into the air.
With a proud history tracing back over a century ago to the courageous aviators of the Australian Flying Corps, the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales stands as a legacy aviation organisation and one of the country’s oldest flying schools.

Club Atmosphere
RACNSW is more than a place to complete flight training. It is a genuine aero club, with students, pilots, instructors, volunteers and aviation supporters sharing a common passion for flying. Members can take part in workshops, industry presentations, competition days, social flying and club events, while building friendships and confidence beyond the cockpit.

Fleet
Our fleet supports a range of training and private flying needs, from efficient two-seat trainers through to larger touring aircraft. Whether you’re beginning your aviation journey, building hours, hiring privately or progressing through advanced training, RACNSW offers aircraft options suited to different stages of flying.

Instructors
Our instructors bring more than 100,000 hours of collective flying experience across airline operations, the RAAF, charter, general aviation, academia, business and government. They are passionate about helping students build skill, confidence and sound judgement, while delivering training in a safe, supportive and professional environment.

Aero Club of the Year
RACNSW was recognised by CASA as the Aero Club of the Year, reflecting the efforts of our instructors, volunteers, members and supporters in building a safe, welcoming and active aviation community at Camden Airport. For us, this recognition reflects the Club’s focus on accessible flight training, member flying, youth aviation pathways, volunteering and creating a home for people who love aviation.
