Our people are at the heart of the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales. RACNSW is supported by a dedicated team of instructors, operational personnel, committee members and volunteers who share a common commitment to safe, accessible and community-focused aviation.
From flight training and aircraft operations to member services, youth programs and club events, our people help create the welcoming aero club environment that allows students, pilots and supporters to learn, fly and belong.

Aero Club Executive
The Club Executive provides governance, strategic direction and member representation for RACNSW as a not-for-profit incorporated association.
Lachlan Hyde
President & Chairman
With a background in the community and public service sectors spanning roles across the government and not-for-profit space, Lachlan has brought his diverse skill-set as Club President since 2023.
For his efforts in re-establishing the Royal Aero Club, Lachlan was named the 2023 Young Achiever of the Year as part of the CASA Wings Awards as well as the 2024 Rising Star as part of the Australian Aviation Awards.
Lachlan’s civic engagement is reflected in his appointment by the Governor of New South Wales as a Justice of the Peace (JP). He has also been sworn in as a Member of the Liverpool Order (MLO) and a Member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (MICDA).
In his spare time, Lachlan is working towards his Private Pilot Licence (PPL) with a particular fondness for the Cessna 152.
Jonathon Mayorga
Vice-President
Jonathon has served as Club Vice-President since 2023, bringing youthful energy and dedication to the role. With a lifelong passion for helping those around him he exemplifies servant leadership helping budding aviators put wings on their dreams.
Outside of his love for aviation, Jonathon researches and studies Microbiology at the University of New South Wales. Driven by a curiosity to research the natural world, he aims to create impactful outcomes in both his professional and personal endeavours.
Zaccary Lancaster
Secretary
Serving as Club Secretary since 2023, Zaccary brings a wealth of experience from the public and private sectors with a background in government and law
Passionate about supporting those around him, he has volunteered with organisations that assist the homeless, disadvantaged youth, the elderly, and veterans.
A strong believer in uplifting young people, Zaccary plays a key role in running our school holiday Flying Training Camps helping student pilots put wings on their dreams.
Flying School Management
Our flying school management team oversees the Club’s CASA-approved Part 141 flight training operations, training standards, aircraft scheduling, safety systems and day-to-day operational support.
