With a background in the community and public service sectors spanning roles across the government and not-for-profit space, Lachlan has brought his diverse skill-set as Club President since June 2023.
For his efforts in re-establishing the Royal Aero Club, Lachlan was named the Young Achiever of the Year as part of the CASA Wings Awards in early 2024.
Lachlan’s civic engagement is reflected in his appointment by the Governor of New South Wales as a Justice of the Peace (JP). He has also been sworn in as a Member of the Liverpool Order (MLO) and a Member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (MICDA).
In his spare time, Lachlan is working towards his Private Pilot Licence (PPL) with a particular fondness for the Cessna 152.
Jonathon has served as Club Vice-President since 2023, bringing youthful energy and dedication to the role. With a lifelong passion for helping those around him he exemplifies servant leadership helping budding aviators put wings on their dreams.
Outside of his love for aviation, Jonathon is studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of New South Wales. Driven by a curiosity to research the natural world, he aims to create impactful outcomes in both his professional and personal endeavours.
Serving as Club Secretary since 2023, Zaccary brings a wealth of experience from the public and private sectors with a background in government and law.
Passionate about supporting those around him, he has volunteered with organisations that assist the homeless, disadvantaged youth, the elderly, and veterans.
A strong believer in uplifting young people, Zaccary plays a key role in running our school holiday Flying Training Camps helping student pilots put wings on their dreams.
Chris has served as the Club’s Operations & Logistics Officer (OLO) role since 2023, bringing with him extensive skills from similar roles in the aviation industry.
He is currently undergoing training for his Commercial Pilot Licence and shares a real passion for General Aviation.
In addition to his role at the club, Chris is an accomplished photographer specialising in aviation scenes including both civilian and military aircraft.
Leo has been a senior member of the Bookings & Dispatch team since 2023, bringing with him extensive skills from similar roles in the aviation industry.
Passionate about supporting those around him, he has volunteered with organisations that assist the homeless, disadvantaged youth, the elderly, and veterans.
A strong believer in uplifting young people, Leo plays a key role in running our school holiday Flying Training Camps helping student pilots put wings on their dreams.
Rodney has been flying privately and commercially since the 1980s and holds an Airline Transport Pilot Licence with over 10,000 hours total aeronautical experience.
With a passion for seaplanes, Rodney has flown DHC-2 Beavers in Australia and Canada as well as DHC-6 Twin Otters in the Fiji, Indonesia, and the Maldives.
He has been deeply involved in Sydney’s General Aviation scene for many years, contributing his knowledge to organisations such as the Australian Air League, Schofields Flying Club, and most recently the University of NSW.

Kayla has been flying since 2018 and holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with a frozen ATPL theory credit having completed all 7 examinations.
She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others to achieve their goals whilst working towards a career in the airlines.
In her spare time, Kayla is a proud member of the Blue Mountains Concert Band where she plays the Saxophone and Flute.
