We’re now a Part 141 Training Organisation, so what does this mean for our club?

Until now, the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales has worked with the awesome team at Sydney Flight Training in order for us to conduct flight training with this joint venture allowing us to hold our 2024 Flying Training Camp earlier this year!

Behind the scenes our team have been working closely with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) on our own training approvals. This has been a lengthy process which ended earlier in the week with the initial issue of our Part 141 Certificate.

As a Part 141 Training Organisation we are now able to offer training for the Recreational, Private, and Commercial Pilot Licences, as well as Night VFR Ratings, and also training for the purposes of conducting a flight review!

This opens an exciting new chapter for the Royal Aero Club being able to conduct flight training with our volunteer flight instructors and in-house examiners as well. At this stage all levels of training are self-paced and are designed to be worked around each student’s individual schedule. As always the club remains primarily a weekend-run operation however students are encouraged to discuss with their flight instructor if ad-hoc weekday flying is suitable.

A big thank you to our inaugural Head of Training Operations (HOTO), Mr Danial Martin and our Part 141 Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Martin Sauer for stepping into these key personnel roles allowing us to put wings on people’s dreams!
